What are Elementor widgets?
Elementor widgets are the content blocks you drag from the Elementor panel onto a page: a heading, an image, a menu, a slider, a form. Elementor ships its own, and Elementor addons such as Animation Addons add more, each with its own Content and Style settings.
Since Elementor 4, these are known as classic, legacy or V3 widgets, next to the new atomic elements. Elementor confirms that legacy widgets keep working, and both can sit on the same page.

What are Elementor widgets?

How many widgets does Animation Addons have?

Are these Elementor widgets free?
72 of the 102 are free in the Animation Addons plugin on WordPress.org. The other 30, marked Pro, come with any Animation Addons Pro plan. See Free vs Pro.
Where can I get free Elementor widgets?
Install Animation Addons for Elementor from WordPress.org: it includes 72 free Elementor widgets, among them Nav Menu, Posts, Countdown, Image Comparison, Contact Form 7, Mailchimp and Loop Grid. No account or license is needed for the free widgets.
Do classic (V3) Elementor widgets still work in Elementor 4?
Yes. Elementor says nothing breaks when you update: legacy widgets keep working, and you can use them and atomic elements on the same page. Classes and Variables apply only to atomic elements, so legacy widgets keep their own style controls.
Should I use widgets or atomic elements?
Use these widgets on Elementor 3 sites, on existing pages built with them, and where a widget has no atomic version yet. On new Elementor 4 pages, use atomic elements where one exists, so the design runs on your Classes and Variables. One license covers both.
Do I need Elementor Pro?
No. The widgets work with Elementor Free. Elementor Pro is optional, and the free widgets need only the free Animation Addons plugin.
How do I add one of these widgets in Elementor?
Install Animation Addons for Elementor from WordPress.org (and Pro for Pro widgets), open a page in Elementor, search the panel for the widget's name and drag it onto the page. Each widget has its own Content and Style settings.
Will 100+ widgets slow down my site?
Only the widgets you place load their scripts, through Elementor's own loading, and you can switch off any widget you don't use in the Animation Addons dashboard so it never appears in the panel.
What is the best Elementor widgets addon?
It depends on what you build. If you want one plugin for motion, Animation Addons adds animated headings, scroll and GSAP effects next to the everyday widgets: menus, posts, sliders, forms and pricing tables. Check that an addon supports the Elementor version you use, lets you switch off unused widgets and has a free version to test.
