Features

Key features of Search Query

Every option of the widget, each tied to a setting in the Elementor panel.

The visitor's search term

The widget prints the WordPress search query, the term from the search request, so the heading always matches what was searched.

Your own Search Text

Write the words before the term in Search Text, such as Search Results for: or You searched for.

HTML Tag

Pick the HTML Tag: H1 to H6, div, span or p. Use H1 when the heading is the main title of the results page.

Elementor search keyword style

Under Query Text Style, give the search keyword its own Text Color and Typography.

Elementor search results heading

Set Text Color, Typography, Text Stroke, Text Shadow and Blend Mode for the whole heading.

Category and date rows

For an Elementor search results filter by category and date, the widget adds a Category row and a Date row when the Search Form filter sends them. Style them under Filter Text.

Alignment

Place the heading left, centre, right or justified with Alignment, on every screen size.

Built for search templates

Add it to an Elementor search results template: a Theme Builder template of the type Archive/404/Search, set to the Search Page, next to the Search Form and Search No Result.

Step by step

How to show the search term in Elementor

Five steps, no code. The bold names are the labels in the Elementor panel.

  1. Install Animation Addons for Elementor from WordPress.org, then turn on Search Query in Animation Addons → Elements.

  2. In Animation Addons → Theme Builder, add the Elementor search page template: type Archive/404/Search, shown on the Search Page.

  3. Edit the template with Elementor and drag Search Query from the AAE Search group to the top. The editor shows Hello World as the term.

  4. Set the HTML Tag, the Search Text and the Alignment.

  5. Style the heading under Style, the term under Query Text Style and the filter rows under Filter Text, then publish.

FAQ

Questions about Search Query

What does the Search Query widget show?

It shows your Search Text followed by the term the visitor searched for, such as Search Results for: design. It reads the term from the WordPress search request.

Where do I use the Search Query widget?

On your search results template. Create an Archive/404/Search template in Animation Addons → Theme Builder, set it to the Search Page and add the widget.

How to customize search results page in Elementor?

Build the page as a Theme Builder template. Add the Search Form, the Search Query heading, a posts widget for the results and Search No Result for empty searches, then style each one.

Can I use it as the Elementor search page title?

Yes. Set HTML Tag to H1 and it becomes the page title, such as You searched for chair. The title follows the visitor's search.

Why does the editor show Hello World?

There is no real search while you edit, so the widget shows Hello World as a placeholder term. Your visitors see their own search term.

Can I change the text before the search term?

Yes. Type any words in Search Text, such as You searched for. By default it reads "Search Results for:".

Can the search keyword have its own style?

Yes. Query Text Style gives the term its own Text Color and Typography, apart from the rest of the heading.

What are the Category and Date rows?

When the Search Form filter is used, the widget adds rows such as Category: Film and Date: From 2026-09-01 to 2026-10-14. Style them under Filter Text.

Does it list the search results too?

No. It shows the heading only. Add the widget that lists your posts below it, and Search No Result for searches with no matches.

Is the Search Query widget free?

Yes. It ships in the free Animation Addons for Elementor plugin on WordPress.org and works with Elementor Free and Elementor 4.
