Live countdown to any date

Pick the Due Date with the date and time picker, or fill it with a dynamic tag. The timer updates every second.

Your own labels

Rename Days, Hours, Minutes and Seconds to set Elementor countdown timer labels, for example Hrs and Min, or another language.

Labels below or beside

Set Direction to column for labels under the numbers or row for labels beside them, then set Align Items and Label gap.

How to add a countdown timer in Elementor

Five steps, no code. The bold names are the labels in the Elementor panel.

  1. Install and activate Animation Addons for Elementor from WordPress.org, and turn on Countdown under Widgets.

  2. Open your page in Elementor, search the panel for Countdown and drag it onto the page.

  3. In Timer, set the Due Date and rename the Days, Hours, Minutes and Seconds labels if you like.

  4. In the Style tab, set Columns to 4 for one line, choose Direction and turn on Show Separator if you want one.

  5. Write the Time Expire Title and Description, check the timer on mobile and publish.

Questions about the Countdown Widget

How do I add a countdown timer in Elementor for free?

Install the free Animation Addons plugin, drag the Countdown widget onto your page and set the Due Date in the Timer section. It starts counting at once and works with Elementor Free.

Why is my countdown on two rows?

The Columns setting defaults to 3 on desktop, 2 on tablet and 1 on mobile. Set Columns to 4 in the Style tab to keep days, hours, minutes and seconds on one line.

Can I change the Days, Hours and Minutes labels?

Yes. The Timer section has a text field for each label, so you can write Hrs and Min, or translate them.

What happens when the countdown ends?

The units are replaced by the Time Expire Title and Description you write, for example "This offer has ended".

Can I put the labels beside the numbers?

Yes. Set Direction to row and the label sits next to its number. Align Items and Label gap fine-tune the spacing.

Can I make an Elementor evergreen countdown timer?

No. It counts to one fixed date and time for every visitor. Change the Due Date, or use a dynamic tag, when you need a new deadline.

Why is my Elementor countdown timer not working?

Check that the Due Date is in the future, because a date that has passed shows the Time Expire message. The numbers are written by a small script, so a cache or optimizer plugin that delays scripts can leave the timer empty.

Which time zone does the countdown use?

The visitor's own. The timer runs in the browser and reads the Due Date as local time, so a visitor in London and one in New York both count to 20:45 on their own clock.

Does it work in Elementor 4?

Yes. It is a classic widget, so Elementor 4 lists it with the legacy widgets and it works on the same page as atomic elements.
