Every feature below is a real setting in the widget panel. Nothing needs custom code.

Next and previous posts

Links to the post published just before and just after the current one, in the same post type. It reads them live on every post.

Post title display

Turn on Show Post Title for Elementor post navigation with title: the title of each linked post prints above its label, so readers know where they are going.

Two preset styles

Pick a Preset Style: Default for a title and label in two columns, or Layout 2 for round buttons with a label and icon.

Custom previous link

Switch Enable Prev on or off and set its Title and Icon. The icon sits before the text.

Custom next link

Switch Enable Next on or off and set its Title and Icon. The icon sits after the text.

Any icon

Choose each Icon from the Elementor icon library or upload an SVG, and set the Icon Size and the Gap to the text.

Circles, squares or pills

Set Width, Height, Border and Border radius to turn the links into circles, boxes or pills, so each one works as an Elementor next post button.

Normal and hover styles

Set Color and Background (classic or gradient) for Normal and Hover, a hover Border Color, and title Color and Hover Color. Text colours change in 0.3 s. Gap, Margin, Typography and title Spacing keep it in line with your layout.

How to add post navigation in Elementor

Five steps, no code. The bold names are the labels in the Elementor panel.

  1. Install and activate Animation Addons for Elementor from WordPress.org, and turn on Post Pagination under Widgets.

  2. Open your single post template in the Animation Addons Theme Builder, or a post in Elementor. Search the panel for Post Pagination and drag it below the post content.

  3. Pick a Preset Style: Default with Show Post Title, or Layout 2 for round buttons.

  4. Keep Enable Prev and Enable Next on, and set each Title and Icon.

  5. In the Style tab set the Gap, Typography, Width, Height, Border radius and the Normal and Hover colours. Publish, then open a post to test both links.

How do I add next and previous post links in Elementor?

Drag the free Post Pagination widget from Animation Addons into your single post template, below the content. It then shows a link to the previous and the next post on every post, with no setup per post.

Is there a post pagination widget for Elementor for free?

Yes. Post Pagination is a free Elementor post navigation widget in the Animation Addons plugin on WordPress.org. It works with Elementor Free, so you do not need Elementor Pro's Post Navigation.

Can I get post navigation without Elementor Pro?

Yes. Elementor's own Post Navigation widget needs Elementor Pro. This widget is free and gives you Elementor post navigation without Pro, with titles, labels and icons.

Which posts does Post Pagination link to?

The posts published just before and just after the current one, in the same post type. Previous is the older post and Next is the newer one. The links are not limited to the same category.

Does it add numbered pages to my blog?

No. Post Pagination moves between single posts. For Elementor blog pagination with numbered pages under a list of posts, use the Pagination setting of the Posts Widget or Advanced Posts.

What shows on the first or the latest post?

Only the link that exists. The newest post has no Next link and the oldest has no Previous link. If a post has neither, the widget shows nothing.

Can I hide the post titles?

Yes. Turn off Show Post Title in the Default preset. Layout 2 shows only the labels and icons in round buttons.

Can I set my own labels and icons?

Yes. Set the Title and the Icon of Previous and of Next, for example Prev and Next with a chevron. Turn Enable Prev or Enable Next off to hide one side.

Can I use it in a Theme Builder template?

Yes. Place it in a single post template in the Animation Addons Theme Builder for Elementor single post template navigation. In the editor it previews with your latest published post.

Does it work in Elementor 4?

Yes. It is a classic widget, so Elementor 4 lists it with the legacy widgets and it keeps working next to atomic elements.
