What the widget gives you, each tied to a setting in the Elementor panel.

Image or video thumbnail

Set the thumbnail Type to image or video. For an image, pick it under Image and set the Image Resolution. An image gives you an Elementor video poster image that stays until the visitor plays.

Two layouts

Choose a Style. Style One puts the title above the subtitle at the bottom. Style Two cuts an angled corner into the thumbnail and shows the subtitle above the title.

Title and subtitle

Add a Title with its Title HTML Tag and a Subtitle. An Elementor video with title and subtitle needs no extra widgets: both sit on a dark overlay above the thumbnail.

Play button with a lightbox

The Button section sets the Text, Icon and Icon Spacing. The button appears on hover, so you get an Elementor video with play button that opens an Elementor video lightbox on click.

Ripple effect

Turn on Active Ripple and pick a Ripple Color for pulsing rings around the button. That makes an Elementor video ripple button with no code.

Loading spinner

Turn on Active Spinner to show a spinner while the video loads after a click.

Alignment

Use Alignment to place the whole content left, centre or right.

Full styling

Style the Video Box (border, radius), the Thumbnail height, the Content (padding, background, title and subtitle colour, typography and space) and the Button (typography, width and height, border, shadow, colours).

Step by step

How to add a video box in Elementor

Five steps. The bold names are the labels in the Elementor panel.

  1. Install Animation Addons Pro, then turn on Video Box in Animation Addons → Elements.

  2. In Elementor, search the panel for Video Box and drag it onto the page. That is how to add a video box in Elementor.

  3. Pick a Style, set the thumbnail Type and choose the Image. Add the video URL in the widget settings.

  4. Fill in the Title and Subtitle, then set the button Text or Icon, and switch on Active Ripple if you like.

  5. Set the thumbnail height and the colours in the Style tab, then hover the box in preview and press Play.

The demo above plays its film while the pointer is on the box. In the widget you set the thumbnail Type to Video. We could not read the Pro script, so check the playback in your own preview.

Does the play button show on phones?

The widget shows the button on hover, which phones do not have. Test it in the preview on a real device. The demos here always show it on touch screens.

Do I need Elementor Pro for Video Box?

No. Video Box works with Elementor Free. It is part of Animation Addons Pro, not Elementor Pro.

Does it work in Elementor 4?

Yes. It is a classic widget, so Elementor 4 lists it with the legacy widgets. It has no atomic version yet.
