Demo variations

Six ways to use the Post Title.

Ideas you can build today with the Post Title and native Elementor 4 elements. Cards marked Pro add an Animation Addons Pro extension or element; the rest work on the free plugin.

01Magazines and long-read blogs

Editorial article headline

A large serif headline across the top of the article, never cut, followed by the standfirst and the featured image.

Built with
HTML Tag H1, Limit By None; an article-title Class holding font, size and letter spacing.
Motion
Words rise in one after another with Text Animation.
Needs Pro
Text Animation (Pro extension). The title itself is free.
02Blog archives on agency and SaaS sites

Even-height blog grid

Three cards per row; long titles stop at two lines with an ellipsis, so every excerpt and "Read article" link lines up. The whole card is clickable.

Built with
Post Title in a Loop Grid card, HTML Tag H3, default Line Clamp (CSS) 2; Wrapper Link on the Loop Item for the click-through.
Motion
None.
03Food blogs featuring three seasonal recipes

Recipe slider with one-line names

Square photo slides with a short name under each, cut at five words so it fits on one line.

Built with
Loop Grid Slider card with Post Image and Post Title, Limit By Word Count, Limit 5, HTML Tag H3.
Motion
The slider's own slide transition.
Needs Pro
Only for more than 3 slides (the free Loop Grid Slider shows up to 3).
04Knowledge bases and SaaS docs

Help center "related articles" sidebar

A narrow sidebar list of related articles, each title cut to 40 characters so the column never wraps.

Built with
Loop Grid with Source Related Posts in the sidebar; Post Title with HTML Tag p, Limit By Character Count, Limit 40.
Motion
None.
05Real estate and rental sites with long listing names

Property listing header

A full-width banner over the listing photo; the H1 stays at two lines on phones so the price and "Book a viewing" button stay above the fold.

Built with
HTML Tag H1, Limit By Line Clamp (CSS), Limit 2 on mobile; white text from a Class.
Motion
None.
06Content-heavy sites with a custom search page

Search results list

A plain list of results, one line per title, with the date and a short excerpt under it.

Built with
Search Page template; Loop Grid with Source Current Query (Archive); Post Title with HTML Tag H2, Line Clamp (CSS) 1; Search Query above the list.
Motion
None.
Features

What you get with the Post Title.

Every option below is a real control in the Post Title panel or part of how the element renders. Nothing here needs custom code.

Fills in the title by itself

Post Title shows the title of the post being viewed, or of each post in a Loop Grid or Loop Grid Slider card. Design once; every post fills it in.

Heading levels you control

HTML Tag offers H1 to H6, p, div and span. Use H1 on single templates and H2 or H3 in cards, so each page keeps one main heading and a clean outline.

Even cards with a CSS clamp

The default Line Clamp (CSS) of 2 hides overflow visually without removing words from the page, and looks the same in the editor and on the live site.

Hard trims for tight spaces

Word Count and Character Count shorten the title itself and add "...". Use them in sliders, sidebars and menus where space is fixed.

A link that looks like the title

The Link field wraps the title in an anchor that keeps the title's colour and has no underline. It holds one fixed URL, so use it for a static destination, not for loop cards.

A real preview in the editor

In the editor, Post Title previews the title of a published post that has a featured image, the same post Post Image shows, so cards look finished on the canvas.

Built on the atomic base

How the Post Title widget is built (atomic structure)

Why it mattersOne element, one Class. Change the title Class once and every template and card on the site updates.

Download free
  1. Install and activate Animation Addons for Elementor, then open a single template or a Loop Grid card with the Atomic Editor on.

  2. From AAE Post in the Elements panel, drag Post Title into place. New Loop Grid cards already include one.

  3. In Title Settings, set HTML Tag: H1 on single templates, H2 or H3 in cards.

  4. Choose Limit By and Limit if titles need shortening.

  5. In a loop card, select the Loop Item and set its Wrapper Link to the post URL so the whole card opens its post.

  6. Style the title in the Style tab, save it as a Class, and publish.

FAQ

Questions about the Post Title

How do I show the post title dynamically in Elementor 4?

Install the free Animation Addons for Elementor plugin and drag the Post Title element from the AAE Post category into your single template or Loop Grid card. Post Title shows the current post's title automatically, with no dynamic tag to configure. It works on Elementor Free with the Atomic Editor turned on.

Should the post title be an H1 or an H2?

Use H1 for the post title on single-post templates, because it is the page's main heading. In blog grids and loop cards, use H2 or H3, since the archive page has its own H1. The Animation Addons Post Title element's HTML Tag control sets this for each placement, with H2 as the default.

How do I limit the length of post titles in Elementor?

Open Title Settings in the Animation Addons Post Title element and choose Limit By. Line Clamp (CSS) shows a set number of lines and keeps the full title in the HTML. Word Count and Character Count shorten the title text itself and add an ellipsis. The default is a two-line clamp, which suits most card grids.

Does trimming the post title hurt SEO?

A line clamp does not: the Post Title element keeps the full title in the HTML and only hides overflow visually, so search engines and screen readers get every word. Word Count and Character Count change the text on the page, so keep them for cards, sliders and sidebars, and leave the H1 on single templates untrimmed.

How do I link each post title to its post in a Loop Grid?

Link the whole card instead of the title. Select the Loop Item in your Animation Addons Loop Grid and set its Wrapper Link to the post's URL with a dynamic tag, so each card opens the post it shows. The Post Title element's own Link field holds one fixed URL, so in a loop every title would point to the same address.

Is the Post Title widget accessible?

Yes. The Animation Addons Post Title renders a real heading tag, so screen readers announce it and include it in the page outline. Clamped titles keep the full text for assistive technology. When linked, the title keeps its colour and drops the underline, so check that your design still shows it is clickable, for example with a hover style.

Does Post Title work without Elementor Pro?

Yes. Post Title is part of the free Animation Addons for Elementor plugin and runs on Elementor Free with the Atomic Editor on. Use it in templates you build with the Animation Addons Theme Builder or inside Loop Grid cards. Animation Addons Pro is only needed for motion such as Text Animation.
