Demo variations

Five ways to use the Post Content.

Ideas you can build today with the Post Content and native Elementor 4 elements. Cards marked Pro add an Animation Addons Pro extension or element; the rest work on the free plugin.

01Online magazines and editorial blogs

Magazine long-read with a drop cap (Free only)

A 680px serif reading column on warm off-white, generous 1.7 line height, a three-line drop cap on the first paragraph, and pull quotes set large in italic with a thin rule on the left.

Built with
Post Content inside a Flexbox with a max width; a Class article-body for font, size, line height and colour; Custom CSS (free extension) with selector p:first-of-type::first-letter for the drop cap and selector blockquote for the pull quotes.
Motion
None.
02Food bloggers whose recipe lives inside the post

Recipe post with a sticky side card

Two columns on desktop: the story and steps in Post Content on the left, a cream side card with the featured image and a short summary on the right that stays in view while readers scroll. On mobile it stacks.

Built with
Post Content in the main Flexbox column; Post Image and Post Excerpt in the side Flexbox; numbered lists in the body styled with selector ol li in Custom CSS.
Motion
The side column stays in view with Sticky on its Flexbox (Pro extension).
Needs Pro
Sticky.
03Product docs and help articles written as WordPress posts

SaaS help-centre article (Free only)

A three-column docs layout on white: category menu on the left, the article in the middle with dark code blocks and zebra-striped tables, a "Still stuck?" box on the right.

Built with
Post Content in the centre column; selector pre and selector table rules in Custom CSS; WP Menu for the sidebar; Search Form in the header.
Motion
None.
04Studios and freelancers who publish case studies as posts or a custom post type

Studio case study that fades in

A full-width cover image, a short intro row with client and year, then a dark-mode case-study body whose images run edge to edge of the content column.

Built with
Post Image at Image Size Full with Aspect Ratio Auto; Post Title as H1; Post Content on a near-black background Class, with selector img { width: 100%; height: auto; } in Custom CSS.
Motion
The body fades up as it enters with Regular Animation "Classic Fade Up" on Post Content (Pro extension).
Needs Pro
Regular Animation.
05Agencies sharing drafts or private notes as password-protected posts

Password-protected client preview (Free only)

The site header and post title show as normal; where the body would be, a centred card holds WordPress's password form with a rounded field and brand-colour button. After the right password, the article appears in the same place.

Built with
Post Content (it swaps in the password form automatically); selector input and selector input[type=submit] rules in Custom CSS to style the form.
Motion
None.
Features

What you get with the Post Content.

Every option below is a real control in the Post Content panel or part of how the element renders. Nothing here needs custom code.

One template, every post

Post Content prints the body of whichever post is being viewed, so a single design serves hundreds of articles.

Authors keep their editor

Block editor posts run through WordPress's content filters, so blocks, embeds and shortcodes render as your theme expects. Posts built with Elementor print their Elementor layout instead.

A free single-post theme builder

Animation Addon > Theme Builder includes a Single template type in the free plugin, so a full article template needs no Elementor Pro.

A real post on the canvas

The editor previews a real published post with a featured image instead of lorem ipsum. With Animation Addons Pro, Page Settings > Preview Settings lets you pick the exact post, such as your longest one.

Multi-page and protected posts handled

Posts split with the Page Break block get a "Pages:" row of numbered links. Password-protected posts show the WordPress password form in place of the body.

Styled once, reused everywhere

Typography, colour, width and spacing come from the unified Style tab. Save them as a Class and every single template on the site shares the same reading experience.

Lean output

No stylesheet of its own: one wrapper with your classes, the post body inside, and a guard that stops a post rendering inside itself.

Built on the atomic base

How the Post Content widget is built (atomic structure)

Why it mattersPost Content is a leaf element. The body belongs to the author, so you style it as a whole and let headings, links and lists inherit, then reach inner tags with Custom CSS (free), where selector targets this element only.

StructureNavigator
  • Post Contentsingle atomic element: one wrapper with your Classes and Style tab settings
    • The current post's bodyparagraphs, headings, images, embeds, blocks or Elementor layout
    • "Pages:" linksonly on posts split into pages
    • Password formonly on password-protected posts
Step by step

  1. Install and activate Animation Addons for Elementor, and turn on the Atomic Editor in Elementor.

  2. Go to Animation Addon > Theme Builder, add a new template with the type Single, and open it with Elementor.

  3. In the Elements panel, open AAE Post and drag Post Content into your reading column, with Post Title and Post Image above it.

  4. Style the body in the Style tab (font, size, line height, colour, max width) and save it as a Class.

  5. Set where the template displays, for example all posts, then publish.

  6. Open a long post, a short one and a multi-page one on the live site to check them.

FAQ

Questions about the Post Content

How do I show post content in an Elementor single post template without Elementor Pro?

Install the free Animation Addons for Elementor plugin, create a Single template under Animation Addon > Theme Builder, and drag the Post Content element from the AAE Post category into it. Post Content outputs each post's own body, so every article using the template fills it. It runs on Elementor Free with the Atomic Editor on.

Will posts written in the block editor look right inside the template?

Yes, in most cases. Animation Addons Post Content runs block editor posts through WordPress's normal content filters, so blocks, galleries, embeds and shortcodes render as your theme expects. Wide and full-width alignments are styled by your theme's CSS, not by the element, so test one post that uses them and add Custom CSS if needed.

Why is my Elementor single post template showing an empty content area?

Usually the template has no post content element, or no published post exists for the editor to preview. Animation Addons Post Content previews a real published post on the canvas and shows a labelled "AAE Post Content" box when none is found. On the live site it always renders the post being viewed.

Is the post content good for SEO?

Yes. Animation Addons Post Content renders the article on the server, so the full body, headings and links are in the page HTML that search engines read. The element adds only one wrapper div, and the article keeps the heading structure the author wrote. Use Post Title as the template's H1.

Does the Post Content widget slow my page down?

No. Animation Addons Post Content loads no stylesheet or script of its own; it prints the post body inside one wrapper. Your styling comes from Elementor 4 Classes, which Elementor already outputs. Page weight depends on what authors put in the post, such as image sizes and embeds.

Is Animation Addons Post Content accessible and mobile friendly?

Animation Addons Post Content keeps the author's markup as written, so headings, lists, image alt text and links reach screen readers unchanged. "Pages:" links include screen-reader text. The wrapper is full width, so set a max width and font size per breakpoint in the Style tab for comfortable reading on phones.

Can I animate the post content?

Yes, with Animation Addons Pro. Extensions such as Regular Animation can fade or slide the whole Post Content element in as it enters the screen. For long articles, one calm entrance on the body reads better than animating every paragraph, and Pro includes Reduced Motion controls.
