What the widget gives you, each tied to a setting in the Elementor panel.

Seven networks

Add a button per network in Social Share. Each one has a Title, a Vendor (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest, Tumblr, Blogger or Reddit) and an Icon.

Shares the page it is on

Each button opens the network's share page with the current post URL and title. The Elementor Facebook share button sends the page, and the Elementor Pinterest share button adds the featured image.

Elementor share count

Set Share Count to Yes to show clicks per network. Counts are saved on the post, one per visitor per network each hour.

Three icon styles

Choose Social Icon Style One, Two or Three for Elementor social share icons in three looks. Style Two boxes each icon; Two and Three add an Icon Style section.

Titles and share text

Use Show Title to show or hide the network name, and Share Icon with Share Text to add a word like Share.

Separator

In Style Three, set Separator to Yes and pick a Separator Icon to divide the title from the count.

Flexible layout

Set Direction, Justify Content, Align Item, Gap and Wrap per device, for a row, a grid or a column rail.

Full styling, normal and hover

Style each Item with Text Color, Typography, Background, Border, Border Radius, Padding, Width and height, and the Icon with Icon Size, Background Color and Icon Color. The Hover tab changes the text, icon and background colours.

How to add share buttons in Elementor

Five steps, no code. The bold names are the labels in the Elementor panel.

  1. Install the free Animation Addons plugin, then turn on Social Share in Animation Addons, Elements.

  2. Open your single post template or a page in Elementor, search the panel for Social Share and drag it below the content.

  3. In Social Share, add one item per network and set its Title, Vendor and Icon.

  4. Choose the Social Icon Style, Show Title, Share Count and, if you want a word on each button, Share Icon and Share Text.

  5. Style it under Layout, Item and Icon, publish, then open a post and click a button to test it.

How do I add share buttons in Elementor?

For Elementor share buttons in a single post template, install the free Animation Addons plugin and drag the Social Share widget into the template. Add one item per network, and each post gets share buttons for its own URL.

Are these free Elementor share buttons?

Yes. Social Share is part of the free Animation Addons plugin on WordPress.org and works with Elementor Free and Elementor Pro.

Can I get Elementor share buttons without Pro?

Yes. Elementor's own Share Buttons widget needs Elementor Pro, but Social Share works on Elementor Free. Both widgets add share buttons to a post.

Which networks can visitors share to?

Facebook, X (listed as Twitter), LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tumblr, Blogger and Reddit. There is no email, WhatsApp or copy link button.

How do the share counts work?

With Share Count on, each click is sent to your site and added to that network's total for the post. One visitor counts once per network each hour.

What does a share button share?

The page it sits on. The widget builds each link from the current post URL and title, and the Pinterest link adds the featured image.

Social share vs social icons in Elementor?

Social Share sends the post a visitor is reading to their own network. Social Icons links to your brand's profiles. Many blogs use both.

Can I use my own icons?

Yes. Each item has its own Icon field, so you can pick any icon from the library or upload an SVG.

Does it work in Elementor 4?

Yes. It is a classic widget, so Elementor 4 lists it with the legacy widgets, and it works in both editors.
